GEOIDE Team member Fangliang He was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Technological Center of Sustainable Native Forest (CTBNS) in Chile, from March 10 to 14, 2008. The CTBNS is a new initiative for sustainable management of native forests with participating institutions including Universidad de Chile in Santiago, Universidad de Magallanes, Universidad de Los Lagos and Universidad de La Frontera. At workshops in the Universidad de Chile in Santiago and the Universidad de La Frontera in Temuco, Fangliang He shared with the audience his experience and perspectives about sustainable forest management of boreal mixedwood forest in Alberta.
